The simulation program (SIMS) evaluates the efficiency of the installed or planned security solutions.

This method makes it possible to compare different solutions.  The result of the simulation is an objective and rational picture that can be used by the security responsible in discussions with management to document and account for the required security budget.

These simulations also allow showing the effects of investment phases and the risks in between phases.  In addition, the effects of omitting some elements of the security solution on the loss severity and frequency can be clearly demonstrated with these simulations.
